Feature Trusses

As a long established family run business and now part of the Harlow Group. We have built an national reputation as a top quality manufacturer of Prefabricated Timber Feature Trusses.

This has been achieved through the quality of our timber, service and expertise.

A Hardwood Roof can comprise of anything from bespoke, integrated trusses to plates, purlins, rafters and ridges. These components can add enormous value to a property and when viewed from inside give a sense of height, space and luxury.

This is where Harlow Timber Systems Limited provides a design consultancy service that can advise on the appropriate location of trusses, section sizes, stylistics, and layout. This design service produces detailed diagrams on CAD drawings to show the trusses and their relationship to other components.

Today more and more architects, engineers and designers have recognised that our design service provides them with a detailed roof design, allowing them to use Oak and other timbers as a structural part of the building, which enhances the aesthetic qualities of the project. This has led to an imaginative and innovative use of heavy timbers to enhance both residential and commercial structures.

Once the project is commissioned all components are made to order. Using both traditional craftsman skills and modern technology the product is constructed off site. Viewing of the project in its construction stage is always welcome.

Harlow Timber Systems Limited can supply and install King Post, Queen Post and Raised Collar Trusses as pre-constructed components.

If you have, or are considering, a contemporary design using oak please feel free to discuss your design requirements with Harlow Timber Systems Limited.

The principal characteristic for the use of oak is (usually) that it can be exposed both internally and externally of the structural frame. This is possible because oak, with its closed cellular structure, is one of the most durable natural materials known to man. It is both naturally resistant to insect and fungal attack and impervious to the weather. It requires virtually no maintenance and is one of the few materials that actually increase in strength with age.
